Is spacecombat singleplayer only?

Hello everyone

Any of you know if spacecombat will be strightly meant for solo gameplay?

In the beta I only tried the first available spacemissions and they were only for singleplayer. But I mean, co-op shouldn't be hard to implement, since it's so linear anyway. Just make enemies harder when there's 2 player flying along side.

I doubt we'll see something like raids or PvP with spacecombat though. Unfortunately =(

single player as far as am aware...think its very much bolt on addon at moment..as in not a lot to it.

Remember those little swoop race mini games in KOTOR? Yeah. That was Bioware's entire inspiration for space combat in TOR. All single player, all ridiculous for an MMO.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me if they expand on it though, in future expansions maybe.

I read somewhere that they had plans to add co-op and PvP later. I can see how co-op could work, but not PvP without a complete redesign. Anyway, at launch, it will definitely be single player only.

Insidious the other day made a nice point to me that keeps my hopes up,remember SWG had no space combat at all on release.

Live in hope they devote some development time to sa pace expansion of some sort in the future. As it stands I think personally space combat even for on rails game which i dont mind is rubbish...just my opinion.

During the Beta in July / August we had to fill a survey everydays after a gaming session.
At the end of the Month of test ; we received an additional e-mail with a survey that was only dedicated to Space content.

So i am pretty sure they are aware of the weak Space content they offered (comapred to SWG one).
And i think we can expect a lot of improvement for it to be implemented in the months to come.

In that survey they even asked if they had to restart from scratch and rethink it entirely.
That is a mark of a "deepthinking" about it, and a will to make it good.

Well, sue me, but I had fun with SWTOR space quests. YES, we do not pilot, just fire, but as a firing game, it is fun.
